Given this is the now only publicly accessible area of the board, I thought I would post this thread in here.
Australs debates begin on Tuesday, and if anyone hears results for any teams, feel free to post them in this thread.
Monash's teams are as follows:
M1: Tim J, Amit, Fiona M2: Victor, Sashi, Kiran M3: Laura, Jing, Scott M4: Ravi, Pras, Zoe M5: Mel, Nita, Damien M6: Rhys, Kat, Andrew
Good luck to all teams...

There are no results from Australs yet because it has apparently been held up by massive problems with the tab.
Apparently Round 2 was only released at approx 4.30-5pm KL time, so it sounds like it is going to be a pretty late night for the debaters....

Finally have an update.
Round 3 has been delayed - debaters have been told not to expect the draw until 8-8.30 KL time (10-10.30 AST).
Results (that I know) are as follows:
Monash 1, 4, 5 and 6 are on 2 wins. Monash 2 are on 1 win after drawing MMU1 in the first round. Monash 3 are still searching for their first win.
Melbourne 1 are on 1 win after hitting Sydney 1 in the 2nd round. Melbourne 2 are 2 wins, with a great win over UQ1 in the 1st round.
No idea on what the topics were.

Update courtesy of Mushy...
At the conclusion of Day 1 (which debating finished at approx 10.30 KL time), Monash is flying.
M1: 1-1-1 (3) M2: 0-1-1 (2) M3: 0-0-0 (0) M4: 1-1-1 (3) M5: 1-1-1 (3) M6: 1-1-1 (3)
Fantastic work by all - and a phenomenal effort by M5 and M6. Great work guys!
Not sure of the topics, but Round 1 was apparently broad democracy topics, Round 2 was Bioethics and Round 3 was the Malaysia round - in which Monash 6 beat UTMara1 on a debate about Malaysian education issues....
Not sure on any MUDS results: if

Wow. Congratulations to all the teams so far. M6 - I believe that is what we call 'owning'! Awesome work!

Thats a great first day. I hope they all get really drunk to celebrate, and Monash 3 get really drunk to drown their sorrows. And the adjudicators get really drunk because they have nothing to do tomorrow but pretend to listen to debates and then just give it against Sydney.
Incidentally, big hello to all the Sydney lurkers!
Anyone know how many teams are at the tournament?

Congrats to all on a great first day. I also completely echo Tom's sentiments about getting drunk - Australs isn't just about debating and judging, its about debating and judging hungover!
Incidentally, does anyone else find it odd that Staggy has got updates from Mushi but we don't know how Melb 1 did in round 3?

Updates for Round 4 - (Economics)
Monash 1, 2 and 3 got up. Monash 4, 5, 6 got beat.
I recently got sent a drunken message from a contingent member saying "Your mum is scared of Monash 1". I'm not sure what that meant, I reckon she could take em, but I assume this means they are doing really well. Or they just don't like my mum for some reason...

Yeah steve, cause i clearly pass all my info on to the general ... Nah, ironically its cause i currently have more contact with sashi than i do with my girlfriend he he In terms of melb, Melb A are on 3-1 after round four (getting beat by syd A in round 2), while melb B were on 3-0 last night (after knocking of UQ A in round 1)... I heard slightly conflicting to stagg re: round 4, mainly that m1 and m2 got up, but losses the rest of the way down... either way, its a massive contingent effort thats for sure!!!! keep these updates coming, and i'll post it up once i get the info (dont worry steve, im trying to whip her into shape to feed me the results of your second rate institution... lol) mush ps - for the record M2 hit MMU A in round 1... how stiff is that in eth random round!! pps - i hear the tab is still running slow as, with the debating finishing aroun 11pm last night... not sure if they will stick to 8 rounds, but if they do we can expect the break to be late late LATE!

Update end Day 2:
Round 5 theme was Culture.
M1: 1-1-1-1-1 (5) M2: 0-1-1-1-1 (4) M3: 0-0-0-0-1 (1) M4: 1-1-1-0-1 (4) M5: 1-1-1-0-0 (3) M6: 1-1-1-0-1 (4)
Monash 1 are apparently massacring teams left right and centre. M2 and M4 are doing very well. And Monash 6 are flying - having apparently beaten Ateneo 3 and Ateneo 2!
Monash 3 did lose the first debate today but they have got a win on the board so that's great.
I have been told that the expectation is that 6 wins will be required to break. Very unlikely that any teams will break on 5 wins.

Hi all,
sorry i haven't had time to post the topics, i see how eager you all are to find out what they were!
on the delays. there were substantial tab delays on day one. basically the tab system became so unreliable that we ditched it and started hand tabbing to ensure the accuracy of the pairing.
But with 108 teams and basically the same number of judges, hand tabbing took a super long time! But we've gotten it under control now. Day two ran quite smoothly, so hopefully we've dealt with the problems.
Tonight is the Women's debate. the topic was "that the election of Hillary Clinton would be good for women".
Fiona, Lauren K, Liz Ames are the Australians/Victorians
I'll try to update tomorrow, but probably will have to wait until the free day because i reckon i'll be pretty busy tomorrow night!
These are first five rounds.
ROUND 1: DEMOCRACY 1. That presidential democracies should change to parliamentary democracies
2. That the media should be required to cap political advertising by candidates and parties during elections
3. That Tonga should abandon its absolute monarchy
ROUND 2: BIOETHICS 1. That the West should not recognize clinical trials conducted in the Third World
2. That governments should abolish patent protection and instead establish a fund that guarantees payments for the development of new medicines for Third World diseases
3. That we should have a moratorium on genetically modified foods until they are proven to be safe
ROUND 3: MALAYSIA … TRULY ASIA 1. That segregating universities on the basis of ethnicity should be abolished
2. That all Malaysians should come under the same civil code
3. That Malaysia should abolish compulsory national service
ROUND 4: The Dismal Science 1. That governments in the Third World should reclaim ownership of basic services
2. That the WTO should enforce fair trade instead of free trade
3. That growth in happiness, not growth in GDP, should be the measure of success in developed countries
ROUND 5: LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND THE CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS 1. That new citizens should be required to pass a language and values test
2. That we should strive to prevent endangered languages from becoming extinct
3. That the membership of the United Nations Security Council should represent the world’s major ‘civilizations’
