Its fantastic news, it couldn't have happened to two nicer people. But some people on the net are not very happy with the result; they should just shut the fuck up!

its also worth pointing out that, as far as im aware, julia and anna's win is only the second time an all girl team won worlds - so more kudos to them for this fantastic achievement!

It really is a phenomenal achievement by Sydney.
Second all girl team to win Worlds, and a G Team to boot! A fantastic effort.
The word we are hearing is that the decision was controversial (which Worlds GF isnt?), but with people of the calibre of Tim, Neill, Jeremy, Alex etc on the GF panel, I am sure they got it right.
Congratulations Julia and Anna!

Congrats to Julia and Anna! Couldn't have happened to two more deserving people ;D.
Here's a little trivia tidbit for you. The last time an all-female team won Worlds (which was our very own Kim and Cathy) won from closing opposition I believe, the same as Julia and Anna's win. Yes this is only the 2nd time that an all-female team has won at Worlds.
(For those firsties and kids that don't remember, Julia was the convenor of Sydney Mini this year and Anna was the tallish eternally around helping out girl that was usually seen in the background at Sydney Mini.)

A huge congratulations to 1) the MAD teams: What an achievement to do as well as you all did in the top debating competition in the world 2) the Victorian teams: Congrats MelbA on breaking!! 3) the Adjudicators who attended, especially those who broke - go Steve, Claire & Nic! 4) Sydney G: Bobo and Anna, what an unbelievable achievement! Congratulations girls, the 2nd all-girl team to ever win (After MAD set the precedent with Cathy and Kim, of course ) Bring on 2007; Australs and Worlds... here we come!

You missed one important achievement Nat - congrats should also go to Australia A - our World Masters team, which was a unity-team of Nicole and Victor, who did extremely well in the GF (from CO) to narrowly lose to Quebec A (CG) in what was universally seen as a closing half debate.
