In case anyone is interested, Sydney's worlds teams are (i think) as follows:
Sydney A - Croke and Paddy Sydney B - Julia F and Mooney Sydney C - Sash and Hamish Sydney D - Oreb and Greenland Sydney E - Jack and Hind Sydney F - Caldwell and Kath Connelly.
i'm pretty impressed that greenland made a team, he's about 86 years old!

I wish people wouldn't post anonymously on the forum...
Thats actually a really good list of adjudicators. I'd be happy to have any of them judge Monash teams at worlds.

Well, that fucks up their adjudicating contingent. Sydney do a lot in the way of hosting tournaments, but it would be nice if they could contribute a bit more to the judging pool.

Not being nice, not being mean. Just telling it how it is. It was a good list of adjudicators, and now the best two in the list are debating.
Seriously, they're the biggest, wealthiest and second most successful debating society in Australia. They benefit from all the quality judges that Monash and Melbourne send to tournaments. They need to start contributing more to the judging pool.
It doesn't make such a big difference at Worlds, where there are 300 teams and about as many judges, but at Australs an extra two or three decent adjudicators makes a real impact.

Tom - on the adjudicator front I agree. It would be good to have some more experienced adjudicators from Sydney (and ACT/NSW more generally).
I take it that interest in Worlds is lower than anticipated if Sydney are sending 8(!!) teams? What are the numbers looking like?

Not sure about numbers. Interest doesn't seem to be particularly low. Non refundable pre-reg of 50% of rego might have scared a few people off.
There's some interesting news on teams though: Susie Riddell (ex UTS) is in Cambridge A and Pat Delaney (ex ANU) is in Oxford A!

When I finally successful registered Monash D today, I got the impression from the registration team that interest was very high.
News from Hong Kong is that HKU are sending 6 teams and CUHK 5 teams and HKUST looks like they'll also send teams.
