Corrupt our union may be, but a shithole it is not (unlike the Campus Centre out at Nashville). The truth is, Sashi darling, that the VADettes' delusions of grandeur would not sit well with the mighty matriarchy's iron fist.

@ least the shithole in Nashville serves Chinese Egg Tarts! Still don't see those @ Melbourne Uni. Sorry my personal love has landed, so it's $8.50 a week on little desserts after lunch.
We've gotten well and truly off topic now. Where's the list of Melbourne teams anyways? There's one thing about MAD, transparency. WYSIWYG. Don't always know about MUDS though.
Anyhow, other strategies.... not for my benefit, I just like watching flame wars.

Melbourne 1: Jess, Liz S, Duncan Melbourne 2: Sarah, Tamar, Phil Melbourne 3: Seamus, Tim, Liz A
THAT'S IT.

Chill people!
We should focus on the things that unite us
Like our hatred for Sydney Uni
Bastards!

Its true, we should focus on our ancient enemy - USyd.
But M, when did you start talking like Yoda "Corrupt our union may be, but a shithole it is not"
hehe
anyway, back to something more serious.
I think i might set up a new thread with suggested websites/articles to read as prep for Australs and people can contribute their favourites. Maybe seperate threads can be set up to discuss specific issues that take people's interest after reading those resources.

After i fell in love with Star Wars Ep 3. See the Movie Thread at MUDS Forum. Just shows how well rounded we all are (well some of us...).
Pity none picked up on the fistings of a matriarchy. Oh well.

Well honestly M the word "fist" always provokes a school-boy-esque dirty response in me, but as my flirting with Amelia has already resulted in severe relationship penalties i didn't want to make things worse by cracking gags about the matriarchy.

Yeah but your entire club is full of sexually deprived boys who generally lack the ability to not be crude (ooohhh double negatives, how inelegant), and I would have expected at least one of them to have attempted a crack. Maybe I don't give MADdies enough credit...
Maybe I give them too much...

Well my understanding is that you havent given MAD boys very much at all.
Maybe if we had more Filipinos and less Indians...

It might help your cause if you had an anti-Brahmin policy. I'm not racist. Just castist.
And Filipinos would help your club A LOT. Perhaps not Filipino males given flirting with a Australian female has precipitated your current "severe relationship penalties". (No offense to any Australian women, or Australian men, but has anyone just LISTENED to Bobby talking? sdflkjdsfdlksjfd)

Sashi, it doesn't matter how many times you state it, if you give no compelling reason why it should be VADdie, then VADette stands (because I gave compelling reasons why it should be that way, not by default).
And as for MAD as an equal opportunity employer... actually I'll finish THAT sentense off at the MUDS forum.

your reasons are compelling only in your mind, my very young apprentice.
alright, you want to know why its VADdie and not VADette, well here goes.
The VAD, as we all know, strives to right the injustices that exist in debating as we know it, as realised by the founders of the club and those brought to us by concerned members of the public. This is why we have branches the world over.
As the VAD strives to be an institution that is equal, and furthermore, strives for excellence, we felt it only right to model ourselves on the greatest debating club of all. Yes, thats right, MAD.
If you are a member of MAD, you are termed a MADdie and not a MADette (and if you do try that, im sure you'll get grief). Hence, given the VAD is adopting the approach shown by MAD ie excellence in all fields etc etc, we call ourselves VADdies. The fact that the VAD is so very important is demonstrated by the fact that the club is made up of people from all over the world.
So, its VADdie. Please respect it, and the same shall be granted to you.
