In today's Monday meeing it was mooted that we really should restart this board (which died slightly over summer) I decided that as an over-zealous first year with lots of energy and excitement about the year to come, I'd start the first post in bagging Sashi for 2006. The only problem is that I haven't really thought of anything to bag him about... Actually, his indepth discussion with Dylan about the new Star Wars computer game was the highlight of my afternoon. So much for spending 3 years attempting to portray debating as cool...

I agree, we should bag Sashi. (basically i just like being on the same side as Nat).
You suck Sashi
And you have questionable taste.
But while we're at it, i think we should bag Jake too. because basically if Jake doesn't win a major tournament this year his entire debating career will be a total failure. And i think its worth reminding him of that.
I mean Sashi has a locked-in job as a corporate-whore at KPMG, so he'll have phat pay to buy bling-bling for his various lady friends, but what will Jake have after this year? A job as a CFMEU carpet bagger and a girlfriend who can't answer a simple question like "how are you" in less in 5 hours? (thats a slight on Jake Kat, not you... ok, its sort of making fun of you too, but in a good natured way...)
So what i'm saying is that Jake is a loser. And his hair is too spikey. And Ravi is a better President, and he hasn't even really done anything yet....
Ok i'm done.

Bagging Sashi is pretty easy. There's the fact that he's really young, the fact that he looks like he's really young, the fact that he looks like a starving ethiopian (hence the nickname Starvin' Marvin), the fact that he talks a lot of crap, the fact that he's treasurer, the fact that he tends to become comatose when he falls alseep for more than half an hour, and many other things. Most of the other things will no doubt be revealed through the course of the year.
As for Jake - well, I think Tim's covered that subject in sufficient depth.
And speaking of the new Star Wars game - does anyone have a copy I could borrow?

Phwoar. I thought MY post was going to be harsh, but I was outdone. Not that my aim is to be quite so nasty to Sashi... It was all in good-natured fun until I realised the can of worms that had been opened (again). What worries me is why Tim makes a point that he likes being on the same side as me... For all the MADdies at today's meeting, perhaps it's not Victor we should be worrying about

As much as I like bagging people, I like being contrary even more, so I'm going to stick up for Sashi. He's taken on a big role as treasurer this year, which means a lot of responsibility, not a lot of fun, and gets far less respect than its entitled to, so go Sashi! Thanks for doing the hard yards on behalf of the rest of us slackers.
But Jake still sucks. And I'm sure Tim will agree with me when I say external officer (or intervarsity co-ordinator as Jake likes to call it) is a wanky job that could be done by anyone. Nonetheless, I'm sure Clifton will find a way to stuff it up.

NOTE Tom: Ravi was the only one who made fun of the Treasurer's position, because frankly I dont think anyone wants to test Sashi's ability to start laundering money or moving MAD funds into an offshore account in the Bahamas.
P.S In a move similar to Tom, as much as I love bagging Jake, may I point out Tim, that at least Jake doesn't spike his hair to gain height.

Firstly, thats EXACTLY why Jake spikes his hair, and since i'm taller than Jake, its not something i worry about very much.
And Tom, yes i agree with you, External - or whatever ridiculous title Jake has thought up - is so easy that only a monkey or Fitch could fuck it up. So no doubt MAD will lose its voting rights on the AIDA Council by the end of the year...
For Nat... Geeeeez, there's just no pleasing you is there (i feel sorry for your boyfriend)? i try to support you on this forum and time and time again i get dissed. People should re-read the way i was scandelously slandered when i expressed the HOPE that Nat would win four Australs, and now this...
Fine.
We're through.
I will make it my life's work to destroy you, and everything you stand for.

Tom: just noticed your sign-in thing has graduated to "Slept with a DCA".... shouldn't that be Convenor?
...and did you like Star Wars?
If so i see a very interesting trend emerging for MAD treasurers of the last few years....

I'm sure if you ask Julian nicely, he'll change it just so you have something else to laugh about Kylie.
And I'm more of a politics and football nerd than a star wars nerd. How does Hayley fit into your trend?

Oh come on Tim - all in the name of fun Don't make it your aim to destroy me because we all know that I'd become so unstable that I would just exile myself from the MAD Forum and MAD/MUDS functions in the fear of having to confront you and then you'd have to deal with a very pissed off Fiona.... now frankly, THAT would be traumatic. By the way, I feel sorry for my boyfriend too... Poor naive boy...

Total Destruction of Nat and Everything She Stands For - on hold. Sympathy for Nat's Boyfriend - continuing. While we're looking at Forum Rankings, could Julian change Nats - its a bit presumptuous don't you think?

*Tsk tsk tsk* Tim, always paying extra attention to detail - the 'presumptuous' status of passing Stage 1 Australs isn't even on my radar - perhaps Julian should change it to 'Still using cuecards'...

Amelia: it should be against the law for you to ask a question like that....
Nat: cue cards. Thats funny.
Maybe we should have a bit of a competition to re-do the rankings.

I like the rankings as they are - as inaccurate as they may be. Technically they are only really indications of people's social lives (or lack thereof) measured by the frequency & number of their posts on this forum....
